Pearl Gourami
This family is native to southeast and south of Asia and lives in fresh waters. Tolerable and generally peaceful fish which makes them interesting for Aquatics. The root of this name is related to an Indonesian name. These fish are slow-moving, and shouldn’t be kept with fast-moving fish or fin-nippers. Although gouramis are hardy, it takes time for the fish to become accustomed to new environments. In their habitat they can tolerate low oxygen water because of labyrinth organ that enable them to use Oxygen from the air. Keep the water temperature consistent to prevent gouramis from becoming stressed or sick. The fish’s labyrinth organ can become damaged with inconsistent water temperatures. They usually swim in middle and top of the water and enjoy exploring and need lots of places to hide. However, Gouramis eat plants, so you should add resilient plants to the tank, like Java fern and anacharis. Their hue and shape are different but in general point, special pectoral fin is the most important sign of this fish. Caves and Plants and stones are needed for the tank, otherwise they couldn’t match themselves to new place and the probability of disease will be more.
