Red Parrot Cichlid

One of the big families which consist of the most varied species with diverse colors and shapes and you can find them all around the world in tropical areas with more than 1500 species. Although their shapes are not similar but their typical behavior are nearly the same and separates them from another families and makes them unique. African cichlids are native to some important Lakes in central parts of Africa. Most of the south Americans cichlids are native to Amazon river and some of them can be found in central America. Their aggressive behaviors cause some challenges for Aquatics and if they want to put fishes from this family inside their Aquarium they should consider some vital aspects. They are also hardy fishes but other small fishes from other families would be killed if you put them near cichlids in your home Aquarium, so some tank requirements must be considered such as cave decorations. A substrate is needed because they dig for finding food. You should have extreme attention if you want to keep them in your tank and if you want to add other fishes, Even the African Cichlids and south American Cichlids have different living requirements. Cichlids also have some subfamilies and those subfamilies has their own species.
